September 2010 - Monthly Look Ahead Schedule

Traffic changes
On Tuesday, September 7, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (overnight), S.R. 82 from New Buckingham Road to Old Buckingham Road will be reduced to one lane. Traffic will shift to allow crews to restripe travel lanes. Motorists should watch for flaggers and expect to stop during the alternating one-lane traffic pattern.

Buckingham Road is closed to traffic from S.R. 82 to Old Buckingham Road.  Traffic must use Old Buckingham Road while work continues on Buckingham Road. 

Eastbound and westbound travel lanes are be reduced from three lanes to two lanes from approximately Ortiz Avenue to Teter Road.

Motorists westbound on S.R. 82 will use a temporary on-ramp west of the traffic signal and existing on-ramp to access northbound I-75

Southbound travel lanes on S.R. 82 are shifted to the west at the intersection of S.R. 82 and Colonial/Lee Boulevard.  There is one travel lane in each direction on S.R. 82.  Eastbound travel lanes on Colonial/Lee Boulevard are shifted to the north at the intersection of S.R. 82 and Colonial/Lee Boulevard.  There are two travel lanes open in each direction.  Motorists are advised to USE EXTREME CAUTION driving in this area.  Crews are reconstructing the new northbound travel lanes of S.R. 82 and the new eastbound travel lanes of Colonial/Lee Boulevard.  This traffic shift is expected to remain in place for approximately six months.

S.R.82 & Colonial/Lee Blvd. Intersection

Utilities
Crews continue installing water main and reuse pipe along the north side of the roadway.  Testing of Phase I of the reuse main along Buckingham Road is scheduled this month.

Storm Drainage
Two crews continue to install storm drainage in several areas along S.R. 82 including near Buckingham Road and east of Colonial Boulevard.

Roadway
Crews are building the new road bed, pouring curbs, installing inlet tops and installing irrigation conduit.  Crews are paving the new roadway from Ortiz Avenue to east of Omni Lane and the northbound on-ramp to I-75.
